Some photos from my race in Echo Valley, Lake Chelan, WA this weekend. It was the second race in the NW Epic Series. and my first race on my new Niner Jet 9 RDO Mountain Bike.
The race started off good and there was a 2.5 mile climb that climbed thousands of feet. The course actually seemed like it never went downhill. But as soon as I got to the downhill part, over extended my self a bit and hit a big dip in the trail, then was flung off my bike onto my right shoulder.
They sent me to the hospital and I got some X-rays. Turns out I have a fractured clavicle and an acromioclavicular joint separation.
That means I tore the ligaments/tendons that hold the collarbone down. I.E. - hurts like a bitch. So, I will be headed to an orthopedic doctor this week to see if I need surgery and get a better diagnosis, instead of the ghetto doctors in Lake Chelan that told me I may be able to “tard” my arm to be able to type.
So looks like I am off the saddle for a bit. But enjoy the photos!
